Roughly a 110-kilometer drive from Metro Manila, Subic Bay Free Port remains one of the Philippines' most sought-after vacation spots. With its safari tours, ocean park showcases, shopping areas, and its generally peaceful ambience, there's surely something for everyone wanting to escape the bustle of the metropolis

WELCOME TO AMERIKASIKSTAN!!!!
mountainpalm
by mountainpalm  Yesterday 4:59 PM    1
Their project aims at “streamlining” the home audit process by giving consumers and regulators specific numbers to work with when targeting energy efficiency improvements. The plan would reportedly “make it possible to ‘identify where the energy gushers are,’: Forthcoming is software that will translate the thermal images into data about energy efficiency specifics, such as cost-estimates for improvements and the returns on making them. Home energy audits, which can be lengthy and expensive, typically pinpoint sites that need improvement but do not offer suggestions about the potential costs and benefits of addressing them. My comment: Between THIS and the new SMART meters.....they'll be regulating our lives.....from morning 'til night...from birth to death..... "Put a fork in us..........we're done!"

Obama's Toxic Speech and Even Worse Plan
merrie
by merrie  Yesterday 9:04 PM    1
Mr. Obama really went off on Mr. Ryan's plan to increase health-care competition and give consumers more control, barely stopping short of calling it murderous. Mr. Obama came out for further cuts in the defense budget, but where? . . . These mystery cuts would follow two separate, recent rounds of deep cuts that were supposed to stave off further Pentagon triage amid several wars and escalating national security threats. Mr. Obama rallied the left with a summons for major tax increases on "the rich." Every U.S. fiscal trouble, he claimed, flows from the Bush tax cuts "for the wealthiest 2%," conveniently passing over what he euphemistically called his own "series of emergency steps that saved millions of jobs." Apparently that means the $814 billion stimulus that failed and a new multitrillion-dollar entitlement in ObamaCare that had nothing to do with jobs.

French ban on Islamic veils enters force
hotdoge3
by hotdoge3  4-11-2011    4
It was unclear whether the women were also fined for wearing a veil. The law says veiled women risk a €150 (NZ$281.47) fine or attendance at special citizenship classes, though not jail. People who force women to don a veil are subject to up to a year in prison and a €30,000 (NZ$55,400) fine, and possibly twice that if the veiled person is a minor. The ban affects women who wear the niqab and the burqa. The law says it is illegal to hide the face in the public space, but makes exceptions to allow for motorcycle helmets, traditional ceremonies such as weddings or Carnival costumes. While Italy also has a law against concealing the face for security reasons, France's law was the first conceived to target veil-wearers. Sarkozy said he wanted a ban, and that the veils are not welcome in France. The plans for a ban prompted protests in Pakistan last year and warnings from al-Qaeda. It also has devout Muslim tourists skittish, since it applies to visitors as well as French citize

SELLING US DOWN THE RIVER!!!!
mountainpalm
by mountainpalm  Yesterday 5:11 PM
Which brings me to the controversial segment of this post. A controversy with added poignancy given all the news hubbub about the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Sumter. The phrase "sold down the river" is a modern colloquialism for betrayal. But is has its origins in the American slave trade. To be sold down the river meant to be sold into slavery and separated from your loved ones. But for me the term has always denoted betrayal. For slaves of Krony Amerikan Kapitalism, the phrase has taken a on an urgent modern dimension, right along with "Yes we Kan." Over the weekend, in my mood of frustration and betrayal, I coined the term, "Corporate Uncle Tom", I am pretty certain I am not a racist or bigot, but to be sure, I ran the phrase past a few of my friends whom I know for certain are not racists or bigots. All of them understood what I was driving at and thought the term was spot on.

Obama's Deceit
merrie
by merrie  Yesterday 6:48 PM    2
However, this number is somewhat misleading. The fiscal year for 2008 ended in October of that year, pushing much of the onetime emergency spending on the 2009 budget. When you add that spending onto the budget baseline, you come up with a deficit for 2009 of $1.4 trillion. While Obama is correct that he is not solely responsible for the 2009 budget, he is lying by not informing the American people most of the deficit was "one time emergency spending." He, Barack H. Obama, chose to put that spending in the baseline budget for the next decade. Thus, we have $1 trillion dollar deficits for as far as the eye can see. The President claimed that we didn't "pay for" the tax cuts. Excuse me Mr. President, when someone takes a pay cut, do they have to "pay for it?" A tax cut means the government simply takes less of YOUR money, what is there to pay for?

NO MEDIA COVERAGE.....DID WE MISS IT?
mountainpalm
by mountainpalm  4-12-2011
Obama’s visit to the region’s economic powerhouse is the centrepiece of his effort to re-engage with neighbours no longer content with being relegated to Washington’s ‘backyard’ and where the United States faces rising competition from China. But after the riots he was forced to cancel an outdoor speech that he was set to give in a Rio square. In between everything he made a brief statement as U.S. forces began an organised attack on Libya. For posterity: Photographers were ready to capture the moment as protestors unveil a U.S. flag that reads 'Obama go home' in Brasilia during his visit. Are we missing something???? I don't remember any report...but then he had proceeded with the Libya's attack that day!!!!!!!

The "Abiotic" Oil Controversy
Oortcloud
by Oortcloud  Yesterday 10:55 AM    5
Meanwhile, however, the oil companies have used the biotic theory as the practical basis for their successful exploration efforts over the past few decades. If there are in fact vast untapped deep pools of hydrocarbons refilling the reservoirs that oil producers drill into, it appears to make little difference to actual production, as tens of thousands of oil and gas fields around the world are observed to deplete, and refilling (which is indeed very rarely observed) is not occurring at a commercially significant scale or rate except in one minor and controversial instance discussed below.

CHEMTRAILS: LOOK UP..WAKE UP SHEEPLE!
mountainpalm
by mountainpalm  Yesterday 8:03 AM    2
Evergreen was given a no contest bid that gave them all the facilities in Marana, Arizona that previously belonged to CIA’s Air America (Pinal Air Park, Arizona). The security at the Pinal site is said to be as severe as that of Area 51. It is run as a military base where one lost pilot got an armed escort immediately off the operational base. The 10 year pilot said it was nothing like anything he has ever seen. Evergreen International Aviation brags of their planes that have 7 times the capacity of other fire fighters. One can carry 20,000 gallons. Firefighting … Right … and next we will be told the chemtrails are to prevent global warming as millions more are advancing to an early death. Please pass it on!
